Western Methods, a subsidiary of Synchronous Aerospace, is the West Coast leader
in manufacturing engineering, CNC machining and program management
capabilities for the commercial aerospace and defense industries.
Focused on servicing customers with high quality and responsive
delivery, Western Methods excels in developing advanced product
for prime and subcontractors, providing quality research and
development support, and crafting production solutions for difficult applications.
With decades of complex machine parts manufacturing and operations experience, the
highly skilled engineering and operations staff at Western
Methods, make this division the provider of choice in the
aerospace sector. Boeing, Lockheed, Northrop Grumman, Bombardier
and others depend on Western Methods to participate in the
early development of cost-effective solutions. And, Western
Methods has extensive experience in the development and manufacture
of first article and production runs for Army, Navy and Air
Force mission-critical programs.
Western Methods was invited by the Lockheed / Northrop Grumman team to work with
other premier subcontractors to develop applications for the
new Joint Strike Fighter, to identify different ways of producing
product, and to evaluate the alternatives. The facility is
participating in the remanufacture of the outer wing skin
for the E-2C carrier-borne reconnaissance aircraft for the
U.S. Navy. In addition, the division has worked on flight-critical
drag-link assemblies for the Army's Apache as well as gun
assemblies for the Bradley Fighting Vehicle System. The group's
engineers devised a method to apply a two-dimensional waffle
pattern to three-dimensional titanium parts of various dimensions
and developed techniques to machine the prototype. NASA's
contractors also know that Western Methods can be depended
on to craft solutions as the division did for Lockheed for
the Space Shuttle external tank. Boeing and other commercial
aircraft manufacturers and subcontractors turn to Western
Methods for answers to difficult and complex applications
because they know the team has unique experience, capabilities
and expertise in aerospace technology.
Western Methods and its skilled engineers and manufacturing technicians understand
the properties and behaviors of the metals used in the development
and assembly of quality finished products. Their meticulous
attention to detail and expert understanding of the sequence
of production processes in complex metal work gives customers
of Western Method a strategic resource and competitive edge.
As both military and commercial manufacturers migrate to quality
and cost-based solutions and look for better ways to utilize
metals and bonded materials in the manufacturing process,
they will increasingly turn to Western Methods for focused
and innovative solutions.
Western Methods adds unique dimensions to the development of commercial and military
aerospace- and ground-based defense systems. The division
is a participating partner from start to finish in the development,
manufacture, management, integration and deployment of the
nation's most modern and sophisticated technology and brings
strategic benefits to a growing list of contractor and subcontractor
firms that seek to leverage capabilities and value in their team members.
